Essential information of all you need to know about your heat exchanger and EC ventilators
Frequently asked questions
We recommend between 3500 to 4000 broiler chickens per Avi35 exchanger, assuming a bird density of 34 kg per square meter. If density is closer to 38 Kg, we recommend 3000 birds per exchanger. This ratio will provide enough fresh air from the exchanger until 21 days of age. After three weeks, other conventinnal ventilators are added to complement the exchangers
Technically, ventilation removes humidity. The heat exchanger will allow you to increase your minimum ventilation at little cost since you recover the heat from the exhaust air. Hence you will increase your air exchange and remove more water from the broiler barn very efficiently without limited heating.
The heat transfer properties of the material in the exchange core is insignificant when the wall thickness is very thin in an air to air exchanger. This is simply because the resistance of air in heat transfer overcomes by many folds the resistance of the very thin wall, no matter the material. The total surface area of the walls for heat exchange plays a much more important role to improve heat transfer efficiency.
The material is significant when you exchange heat from a liquid to air or a liquid to a liquid. Simply because the heat transfer resistance of liquids is low.
The rinsing system that comes standard with Avi35 removes a significant amount of dust daily; however, some dust still accumulate over time.
In a broiler production, we recommend to pressure wash at every cycle to maintain good heat transfer. ( Dust increases wall thickness and is an insulator). In other productions, we recommend to inspect the core at least every 6 weeks and pressure wash if necessary.
